Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Pivot Weight Loss different from other weight loss clinics?
Pivot isn’t just another weight loss program. We’re Arizona’s leading center for bariatric care, and we use real medical science to help you lose weight and keep it off. Whether you’re just starting or thinking about surgery, our team creates a plan that’s made just for you.
How does the Pivot Weight Loss program work?
We start by learning about your health, lifestyle, and goals. Then we create a personalized plan that may include weight loss medications, nutrition coaching, or bariatric surgery. You’ll have the right tools, expert support, and medical guidance every step of the way.
Will the program give me suggestions for what to eat?
Yes. We provide clear, simple guidance on what to eat to support your weight loss. Our goal is to help you build healthy habits, not follow extreme diets.
Do I have to count calories or follow strict meal plans?
Not unless you want to. Some people find tracking helpful, but it’s not required. We focus on making small, sustainable changes that fit your everyday life.
Do I have to exercise?
Movement helps, but it doesn’t have to be intense. Our amazing movement coach, Haley, will help you find ways to be active that feel good and match your lifestyle. Whether you’re just starting or getting back into a routine, she’ll support you all the way.
How much does the program cost, and are payment plans available?
The cost depends on your personalized plan—whether it includes medications, surgery, or both. We’ll explain everything clearly, and if your insurance doesn’t cover it, we offer payment plans to help make it affordable.
Do you offer full refunds if the program doesn’t work?
We don’t offer refunds, but we’re with you every step of the way. If something isn’t working, we make adjustments and keep supporting you until it does.
Do I need to visit the clinic in person to get started?
Yes, we believe the best care starts with an in-person visit. That helps us get to know you and build the right plan. However, we do work with patients from across the country and around the world, and we offer virtual consultations when needed.
Will I need to come into the office weekly?
Not always. Some patients like to check in more often, others less. We’ll create a follow-up schedule that fits your lifestyle and keeps you on track.
How much weight will I lose? How long does it take?
Everyone is different. Most people start seeing results within a few weeks, and bigger changes often happen within 3 to 6 months. We’ll set realistic goals and help you reach them.
What if I don’t lose weight?
If your progress slows down, we won’t give up. We’ll work with you to understand why and adjust the plan to get things moving again.
Do you prescribe weight loss medications or HCG?
Yes, we prescribe FDA-approved weight loss medications when appropriate. We do not offer HCG, as it is not proven to be safe or effective.
Am I a candidate for bariatric surgery?
You might be, especially if you’ve tried other methods and haven’t seen lasting results. We’ll review your health and goals to see if surgery is the right option for you.
What types of bariatric surgeries do you offer?
We offer advanced, minimally invasive surgeries like the magnafit slim, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, SADI, bariatric surgery revisions, and even general surgery. Pivot is also the only center in Arizona—and one of the few in the country—to offer magnetic bariatric surgery.
Is weight loss surgery safe?
Yes. Weight loss surgery is safe, especially with experienced, board-certified surgeons like ours. Our team has performed thousands of successful surgeries, and we’ll make sure you’re fully informed and ready.
What happens after surgery?
After surgery, we help you build healthy habits around food, movement, and mindset. Our Lifetime Support program is designed to give you long-term guidance, so you don’t just lose weight, you keep it off for life.
Will I still be able to eat out and attend social events?
Yes. We’ll show you how to enjoy meals and events while staying on track. Life doesn’t stop after weight loss—you’ll just learn how to live it in a healthier way.
Can I still get pregnant after weight loss surgery?
Yes, and many people see improved fertility after surgery. If you’re thinking about pregnancy, we’ll guide you on the timing and what to expect.
Does age affect my eligibility for the program?
We do not preform surgery for anyone under 18. However, we help adults of many ages. If you’re ready to make a change, we’ll see if the program is right for you, whether you’re 18 or 70.
